Want to watch me squirm?

W

I love breaking rules. I love taking risks. I love risking failure.

As part of the “scary conversation” series of chats I had this week, I challenged Frolic 100 member Leslie to pitch me on her current program. I was proud of her for stepping into her courage and doing so. But then she unexpectedly turned the tables on me and asked me to pitch her on my October program, which at this time was nothing more than a date.

In that moment I knew I had a choice. I could tell her that I have nothing to pitch, because there is nothing more than a date, or I could lean into my fear and pitch the idea anyways.

I’m proud of myself for leaning into my fear and doing it anyways.

And that gave me an idea – what if I take this to another level? What if I invite more people to watch me pitch something that I haven’t even defined or created yet? What would happen?

If I use my previous Venn diagram, and use fear, doing things never done before, and fucking awesome guide me, what if I were to create my own hot seat, and see what happens?

So, I’m putting out the invitation to you to do exactly that. Have a short connect call with me on Zoom, and watch me pitch something where I don’t even know what it is.

What happens when you witness someone deliberately step into their discomfort zone? What permission does that give you? What becomes possible?

Failure is a real possibility, and I’m going to do it anyways. What will happen to you by watching me?
