My story is MY story

M

As I embark on the next chapter of my life, one where I hope to help others like me, I’ve realized we are all unique.

I will share my story, and hope it might inspire others, but there is no following in my foot steps. There is no secret formula. And certainly there are no short cuts.

And that is OK.

The quicker this is learned, the better. Prepare for the hard work. Prepare for things taking longer than you hoped.

It’s hard to like adversity when you’re in the middle of it, but everything that is said about it is true. You do learn. You do grow. You come out of it stronger than when you started.

The one thing that carried me through the tough times was I always had my eye on the prize. There was something I was working towards. There was an end goal. There were also a lot of short and mid-term goals I worked towards. This carried me.

When I bump into people today who are up to their neck in the weeds, but have no goal, no direction, other than basic survival, I feel for them. It doesn’t have to be that way, and their life could be improved if they started to plan a little more.
