You’re watching me write a book “automagically”

Y

I live a decelerated life where I don’t use social media and don’t chase followers. This blog only gets a few visitors a day. I had decided early on I was going to not use traditional metrics and break every rule there is. It gives me pleasure every time I do something like that. The people that need to find me find me.

I love knowing I’m your secret weapon (or that I can be). You, reader, have been on the inside track of everything I’ve been working on. I write every week with the best I’ve got to share. I’ve been doing this for over 2 years now and there are 140 articles.

I never miss a week. I enjoy doing this, the way I do it. I write to myself, starting with a simple question:

What do I need to hear most right now?

I find it effortless and of extreme value, no matter how many people are watching.

In my private journal this week I wrote this:

What if my blog isn’t a blog, but a publicly viewable journal where my next book was being created?

The game is: Write an article a week until I have enough to fill a book. Edit a book together. Publish. Repeat.

I create games where I can’t lose. I’ve just created a game of how my next book will be completed. The work is already done. I have 140 articles to pull from.

The next step is simple. The book is already sitting here.

Who buys the book is irrelevant to me, but whoever does will get the best I’ve got to share. I’m also building a body of work that is available for anyone whenever they come across me.

The best part about this, is it happened “automagically”, and that’s how I like to do things.

What do you find effortless in your own life that you can turn into something different?
